Workout of the Week: Get That Heart Pumpin’!

Healthy heart, healthy body!

Did you know that your heart actually becomes stronger from exercising? The stronger it gets, the more blood it can pump through your body with every beat!

Exercise keeps your heart working at its absolute best. Plus, your resting heart rate will decrease since your heart will be so strong, it doest take as much effort to pump blood.

This short workout is going to get your heart pumping and your muscles working! Get ready to sweat through some high knees, push presses, and more!

Warm Up

Jumping Jacks

High Knees

Invisible Jump Rope – basically, do the jumping and swinging arm movements you make when you’re actually jumping rope!

Superman – Lay on the floor on your stomach with your arms extended out in front of you. Simultaneously raise your arms, legs, and chest off the floor. Briefly hold the pose, release, and repeat.

 

Time: 4 minutes

Repeat: 2x

Transition Time: 40 seconds

Time at End of Warm Up: 4:40

Exercise #1

Quick Feet – Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your hips low. Move your weight to the balls of your feet and run in place quickly.

 

Time: 1 minute

Repeat: 5x

Transition Time: 0 seconds

Time at End of Station: 9:40

Exercise #2

Push Press –  Stand holding a pair of dumbbells just above your shoulders with your arms bent and palms facing each other. Bend your knees and then push up with your legs as you lift the weights straight above your shoulders.

 

Time: 1 minute

Repeat: 5x

Transition Time: 0 seconds

Time at End of Station: 14:40
