High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Keeps Metabolism High

Amherst Fit Body Boot Camp group workouts are designed using our Afterburn formula that encompasses High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) methods. Backed by research, HIIT is ideal for effective weight loss because it focuses on charging up the metabolism and increasing lean muscle using short bursts of activity to spike the metabolism, keeping it running at an accelerated rate for up to 36 hours after the workout. Since lean muscle burns slightly more calories at rest, that added muscle helps the body transform into a fat-torching furnace while enjoying higher energy levels throughout the day. During a HIIT workout, you’ll push your body to the limits of exhaustion, broken up by small periods of recovery. The key characteristics of HIIT are maximal effort and duration with short rest periods.
