Do not let the name scare you away: You do not have to do hours of exercise with drill sergeants. At Fit Body Boot Camp, we’ve created a calorie-burning boot camp program for all fitness levels and goals. So if you’re wondering, “what exercises are done in boot camp?” here’s everything you need to know.
Boot Camp Exercises Overview
Bootcamp exercises are designed to tone the body, promote fat loss and improve endurance. Our Fit Body Boot Camp classes combine high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with traditional bodyweight exercises and dynamic movements. Here is a list of a few of the exercises you can expect in each class:
- Lunges
- Squats
- Planks
- Pushups
- Mountain Climbers
- Kettle Bell Exercises
- Rope Exercises
These exercises engage large muscle groups to produce the ultimate calorie burn. Our signature Afterburn workout combines these HIIT-style movements with active rest training to activate the metabolism and burn twice the calories in half the time.
What is HIIT?
HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a unique type of cardio training. HIIT workouts are structured by performing intense bursts of exercise followed by short rest periods.
This style is different from steady-state cardio, and you usually only have to do about 30 minutes of HIIT to see results. In fact, HIIT is designed to help you reach 80 to 95% of your max heart rate for a few seconds or minutes. These high heart rate intervals are followed by complete rest or active rest periods at 40 to 50% of your max heart rate. HIIT is versatile and works well for all fitness levels. Here are some of the many benefits HIIT boot camp exercises can offer:
- HIIT increases your metabolic rate even hours after exercise.
- HIIT helps your body use fat for energy instead of carbs.
- HIIT can support healthy blood pressure.
- HIIT promotes healthy blood sugar levels.
- HIIT can help you lose fat and build lean muscle at the same time.
Our clients love our HIIT-style workouts because they give you results in half the time of traditional activities. Plus, you’ll burn more calories for up to 36 hours after your class is over.
How to Do Group Personal Training Exercises
Fit Body Boot Camp’s signature 30-minute classes are structured to give you maximum results in a short amount of time. We do this by breaking up workout sessions into different stations.
Every station is dedicated to working on a specific part of the body. You may do calf raises if you want to work on exercises for calves or planks for a strong core. You can maximize your 30-minute session by hitting each station for a killer total-body workout.
