About Our Franchise Owner: Brooke Bishop

Hey! My name is Brooke Bishop. I married my high school sweetheart who is the most supportive husband. I’m the mom to 4 amazing boys who keep me very busy in the best way. I’m so passionate about helping others find their love for health and fitness so that they can live a long happy life. I want everyone to experience what it feels like to have a healthy fit body. Both mentally and physically!

I have always lived a pretty active lifestyle. My family liked to get out and do things and my mom was active and that set an amazing example for me. We would go on nightly bike rides and I would wake up and see her doing her aerobics tape my whole childhood. As I got older I started dance, gymnastics and several sports. My love for sports continued to grow and I still play them as often as possible to this day. I also grew up with 2 brothers and we spent a lot of our time in friendly competitions. Whether it was sports or made up games. Who won the most? Depends on who you ask!

When I got into High School I made sure my schedule was set up with aerobics, weight lifting, basketball conditioning, PE and any other active class I could add. I also played on the basketball and softball teams and often had after school practice. I loved it. I loved moving my body and being active. But, I knew so many who hated it. It was then that I realized that I wanted to open my own gym one day. So that I could help others develop a passion for it as well. I wanted everyone to experience the confidence and energy that came from being active. I started drawing designs of the layout of the gym. How it would look, what would be included and making lists of every important detail.

But, even though I was very active, my diet consisted mostly of candy and junk food. It wasn’t unusual for me to grab sour skittles and a Pepsi from the vending machine before heading off to basketball practice after school. Since I was young and active it didn’t affect me much… until I got pregnant. I got pregnant at a pretty young age and I couldn’t wait to be a mom. I wasn’t very educated on exercise during pregnancy and didn’t want to cause any harm so I stopped most physical activity but continued my horrible diet. I gained a lot of weight during that pregnancy which really opened my eyes to how horrible all of that extra weight made me feel, both mentally and physically.

I was able to draw up a workout plan and make some changes to my diet, and baby step by baby step I got back to where I wanted to be. My next 3 pregnancies I was more educated on the importance of physical activity during pregnancy and remained active, but alas I still gained plenty of weight each time. Although it did make the recovery quicker and easier it was always a reminder of how much better you feel when you are fit and healthy and not packing around a bunch of extra weight.

My passion for opening my own gym where I could help people feel better has continued to grow throughout all my life experiences.  I started educating myself more and getting all of the certifications I need, plus some extra ones to make this dream become a reality.  As I began educating myself more and more I learned some shocking statistics such as; the leading cause of death in the United States is heart disease and heart disease can be prevented by exercise and healthy diet.  Along with that I learned that it also reduces the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, many types of cancer, depression, anxiety, dementia and many other diseases by roughly 42%. A high percentage of deaths in the US are linked to a sedentary lifestyle. This info just fueled my fire even more and I knew I needed to create an easy way for EVERYONE to be active. 

I began researching different franchises vs opening my own brand and that is when I found Fit Body Bootcamp. I knew that Fit Body Boot Camp was just what I had pictured since High school and I quickly jumped on a call with them to get going. As a mom of 4 active boys, already owning 2 businesses with my husband, battling 2 auto-immune diseases and also being a personal trainer I have either experienced or heard every excuse in the book, and I wanted to open a gym that eliminated all of the excuses. Time, knowledge, accountability, ease, kids and feeling like you don’t belong… we eliminate all of these excuses plus many more and make it a fun, quick and easy experience. We are a results driven fitness studio with coaches on the floor motivating you to be the best version of yourself throughout the entire session.

I’m am so excited to bring to you American Fork Fit Body Boot Camp and feel so lucky to be able to finally make my dream a reality and help as many people in the community get on the right path to a healthy active lifestyle, add years back to their life and show them that nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated and exercise can be fun. At Fit Body everyone belongs regardless of your fitness level or age and every member is family. I look forward to helping you with your fitness journey.
