About Kim Schneider & Nicole Rivera

Welcome to Croton Fit Body Boot Camp owned by Kim Schneider and Nicole Rivera! We are longtime friends who have a passion for helping others. While many gym owners have life-long athletic, personal training, and fitness backgrounds, this is not the case for us. We have both found ourselves down many paths over the years. From restaurants and medical reception to child care and banking, we have done it all! For the last ten years, we have each been running our full time dog walking and pet sitting businesses. While this career is an active one, we have each found ourselves struggling to stay in shape for different reasons.

Kim’s road to fitness began when an underactive thyroid caused by an autoimmune disorder led to weight gain and many frustrations:

I was overweight, exhausted all of the time and feeling horrible about myself. Frustrated and desperate for a change, I dove into research about my condition. I began cutting out certain food that were bad for my thyroid bought hoe workout videos and basic equipment. I was never one to be a “gym person”, and I certainly did not grow up athletic in any way. It was a struggle at many times and there were days I had to force myself to exercise, but I was determined to stick to it because I knew my body needed me to in order to get healthy again. With routine, I slowly started making progress and as I did, I could see and feel a difference in myself. Over time, I started finding people to workout with and routines that I actually really enjoyed doing. Eventually, my thyroid levels started getting better, I began losing weight, and found myself with more energy during the day. I have spent the last few years developing my routines, growing my passion for fitness and helping encourage those around me to find their own healthier lifestyle.

Nikki’s road to fitness was actually inspired by the animals she has been taking care of on a daily basis:

Seeing so many dogs with food allergies, grain sensitivities and weight problems, I started researching and offering advice to my dog walking clients on how to help their pups slim down and get healthy. After 8 years of home services, I expanded and opened a pet supply store and doggie daycare. There, we offer only wholesome foods without all of the added, processed ingredients that our pets don’t need and a place where they can get daily exercise to keep them active and healthy. This process of helping so many dogs on a road to a healthier life through diet and exercise, and hearing such positive feedback from our clients, caused me to start making changes in my own daily routine. At the same time, after many years of watching Kim struggle with her own health and weight issues, I saw her begin to transform not only her body but her state of mind through diet and fitness. This inspired me to look not just at my client’s pets, but at the people themselves who have worked so hard to get their pets healthy. I started to think about how I could help guide them towards their own healthier lifestyle.

Together, we decided to take this knowledge and personal experience and use it to help the people in our community learn what we have. We wanted to help guide others on their own journey towards better health, positive thinking, and the confidence that comes as a result. Our focus at Croton Fit Body Boot Camp is on getting healthy together, using our 30 minute group sessions and Unstoppable Fitness Formula! We are so excited to transform lives and grow our family each and every day. We know once you join, you will be too!
