About Kathe Downs
My name is Kathe Downs,
I am a certified personal trainer and have found my passion in fitness and helping others lead a healthier lifestyle. I help people achieve results through fitness bootcamp coaching and nutritional lifestyle changes. If you are looking for a results oriented fitness bootcamp then look no further! But first let me tell you a little about me, I wasn’t always like this.
Growing up I was tall and skinny. I dabbled in sports into high school and maintained a fairly active life. Once I graduated from high school and entered my college years things yo-yo’d for me. As a college student I partied and didn’t always eat the best. You have heard of the freshman 15, well I struggled with gaining some weight but also went in the opposite direction and struggled with a bit of an eating disorder for a while and was skinny in an unhealthy way. Towards the end of college I found myself engaged to be married and not feeling in the best of shape so I did what I thought was right and exercised more often, cut out drinking, and ate a lower fat diet. Although I achieved the goal of fitting in my wedding dress, the result was not a permanent and healthy fix. By the time I was married a few years I was slowly putting weight back on. I was eating out, drinking often and knew nothing about what healthy or clean eating really meant. The worst part is I didn’t have a great excuse! I had no children and time on my hands. My husband and I were wanting to start a family but it was not an easy process as I was unfit and overweight. I decided things needed to change. My process was slow, but I started to cut out all the drinking. I also started to cook more meals at home and miraculously the weight started to fall away. Not long after I was pregnant with our first child! Even through pregnancy I continued to adopt a healthier way of living. We were eating clean and exercise became a daily facet. Once I had my children, I knew that I had to be the best parent I could be for them and that meant living a healthy lifestyle and leading by example. Before long I was training in martial arts and slowly earning my black belt. I discovered the combination of bodyweight exercise and interval training and I was hooked. I was also getting into the best shape of my life and at that point I knew that I had found my path towards what I was meant to do!
As a busy Mom of two young boys I know it can feel overwhelming and difficult to even know where to start in your journey to a healthy way of life, but the good news is it doesn’t have to be! I discovered Fit Body Bootcamp while attending a business summit. I learned more about their philosophy and dedication to changing lives with fitness bootcamp and knew it was a perfect fit for me in my journey to helping me help others!
I have found my passion for helping others through fitness on my own journey to health and am excited to be bringing this formula to our area! Fit Body Boot Camp is helping me dedicate my life to helping others and turning my passion into a career to change the lives of others. I am thankful to be able to share my knowledge and fat loss secrets with an unlimited number of people. I am on a personal mission to make a strong and healthy community one bootcamper at a time!

Kaitlin Coughlin – General Manager/Head Trainer
My name is Kaitlin Coughlin and I graduated from Iowa State in Fall of 2015 with a bachelors in Animal Science and minor in Human Nutrition. I initially went to Iowa State with the idea that I would graduate and go to Vet School. That didn’t work out! About half way through my sophomore year, I realized that it just wasn’t for me and that is when I added my nutrition minor. I really liked nutrition! I found it super interesting what happens in our bodies when certain nutrients are thrown into it! Crazy stuff! My plan from there was to go into animal nutrition and get my masters working with companion animals on the nutrition side of things. So, I took an internship in the nutrition department at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. I was in the lab half of the day analyzing feeds, hays, supplements, and all sorts of other things (i.e. animal feces… I know. Kinda gross. But necessary), and the other half of the day I was putting diets together for the animals! Monkeys, bats, lions, tigers, bears, basically anything and everything! I loved it, but I still wanted more experience on the human side just to see if it would be something I would be interested in pursuing. That’s when I met Dale Downs! My mother has been working out with the Louisville group for some time now and she told me that Dale is a nutrition guru and so I wanted to try and do some work with him over the summer of 2015. Dale told me what I would be doing and it was a bunch of computer work… not really for me. But he said his wife, Kathe, owned a boot camp and that I would enjoy doing that a lot more.. He was right. Love, love, love fitness! Teaching was awesome and I loved being a motivator so the glove just kinda fit! I passed my personal training exam in December 2015 and here I am! So that’s me 🙂
