How to Improve Your Posture

There’s one way you can ooze confidence without even saying a word…

Great posture.

Good posture can increase you authority and respect, whether you’re leading a meeting in the boardroom or your at home parenting your kids. It’s also much easier on your spine.

Here are a few simple ways to improve your posture in an instant.

Shoulders Up

Don’t slump! Make sure your shoulders are up and without tension.

Keep your head straight up. You’ll find that it’s hard to slump when you hold your head high; that’s because your shoulders and head often move together. Make sure you keep your chest slightly out as well.

It might feel unnatural at first, but that’s ok. You just need to train your muscles to work differently than they’re used to.

Feet Flat to the GroundFitbody Bootcamp

If you’re sitting down right now, I want you to do a quick test…

Check your feet. If you’re on your toes, you’re probably hunched over.

There’s a simple fix: make sure your feet are firmly planted on the ground. Keep your weight between the middle of your foot and your heel. If your feet don’t reach the floor, find something elevated to plant them on.

A Flexible Back

You want a pliable spine. What does that mean?

When the back is rigid, it’s hard to maintain a relaxed, straight-up posture. But when your back is flexible and loose, you can hold your posture without tension.

Loosen up your back with proper stretching. The key is to stretch consistently, increasing your range of motion slowly over time.
